In 2008, I was a happy newlywed.
Out of seemingly nowhere, I began suffering from severe panic attacks. I thought I was having a heart attack and going crazy.
People would tell me that I should just “calm down” and be grateful for what I had. It’s tough when your injury or illness isn’t visible!
It got worse after I had my first child. I was even hospitalized.
I’ve used medicine, alcohol, oversleeping, therapy, food, and exercise to cope.
I feel my best when I sleep 7-8 hours, eat right, move my body and find joy daily. How do I do that? I have a few practices. One is journaling 3-5 things I am grateful for. Two is spending time with like-minded people, or meeting a friend for coffee. Three is practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing. Finally, I know I am walking in my purpose, and that has helped me a lot. I am on this planet to help women feel their best, and empower them.
Most days, I’m really good. I’m happy to have more good days than bad.
I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone, you are enough, you can be happy and you can overcome.
