I remember the first time I heard about Dry Shampoo. I was reading my absolute favorite magazine, Real Simple, and an article featuring beauty products. I thought, “what the hell is dry shampoo?” But, I was curious. I have fine hair and I should not be washing it daily. So, the next time I was in the pharmacy, I looked for it.
The only brand I could find was Psssst Dry Shampoo, for $8. It came in an aerosol bottle and was on the very bottom shelf in the Hair Care aisle. Here’s how it works…..the starch in the dry shampoo coats your hair and makes it matte, covering your hair’s natural oils. The side of the can recommends it for athletes, travelers and hospital stays. For me, it was finally a way to avoid washing my hair every day, and not look like a Walking Dead extra.
There are a lot more options now then there was 6 years ago. Currently, I like Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo, because it contains no parabens or colorants, and is only $5! It’s so easy. Just 3 sprays covers up the oily look. Plus, it gives my hair some lift, which I desperately need. As far as beauty products go, it’s definitely a must have for me.
Although I love a good baseball hat, I have a lot less days walking around like this. ⇓
