I knew I wouldn’t get too far into my list of favorite things before mentioning FOOD! New to the list of my favorite things–Powdered Peanut Butter! How did I not know about this stuff until recently??! YUMMMMMM!
So you’re wondering what it is!
Traditional Peanut Butter is made by grinding blanched and pulverized peanuts with hydrogenated oil, adding more fat and calories! Typically there is 16-18g of fat and 200 calories in 2 Tablespoons.
Powdered peanut butter is made by pressing roasted peanuts to remove the oil and grinding them into a fine powder. It only has 1.5g of fat and 50 calories in 2 Tablespoons. The best part is that it still tastes amazing.
The most commonly used brand is PB2. I know it’s available in most grocery stores and even available in wholesale club stores. However, my favorite brand is “Just Great Stuff”. It is USDA Organic, Gluten Free and made with Organic Coconut Sugar. Coconut Sugar is produced from the sap of the coconut palm flower, and is low glycemic, containing trace vitamins and minerals. The instructions tell you to mix 2 Tablespoons with 1 Tablespoon of water to make it spreadable. But, there is a lot more uses than just for making PB&J sandwiches. I use it to kick up my morning superfood shake. I only need 1 Tablespoon to get the flavor I want. It is also great in oatmeal, pancakes, baking, dusting popcorn and Thai dishes!
Can it really be true? Amazing peanut butter flavor without the unnecessary fat and calories! YES!
