It’s 7:20am. You overslept and you are going to be late and you can’t find something to wear. AGAIN!
Chances are it’s not the lack of clothes, it’s the closet. AND
If I may be so bold, the closet is probably not too small, but overrun with clothes, shoes, and purses from the past 20 or more years.
This is caused by one more of the following reasons:
♥ You shop often and don’t follow the “1 In, 1 Out” rule
♥ You have clothes in 4 different sizes
♥ You don’t get rid of anything because it was expensive, can be tailored and may come back in style
♥ You have items from all 4 seasons in 1 closet
♥ You are also storing gifts, board games, and old yearbooks in there.
But, I want to focus on #2. Why, oh why, are we doing this to ourselves? I’ve done it! Every time I looked at pieces, especially the ones I LOVED, that didn’t fit me, I immediately felt like a failure. EVERY DAY! This BS is no way to start the day.
So, pull all those things out. You do NOT have to get rid of it all. Put pieces still in good condition that you will actually wear again in a bin and store them away. Maybe keep out 1 item as a motivation piece, if that works for you. You may or may not ever wear any of them again, but you need to get them out of your sight for now. Then, when you are ready for these items, they are there, NEW AGAIN! SWEET!
P.S. You could always reward yourself with a trip to the mall! You worked hard! LOL ♥
